Why be involved?

The Community Card is ideal for a range of organisations. The programme offers the opportunity for organisations both to provide a prepaid card to members at a market-leading price and to generate an income stream for the organisation itself.

The costs to member organisations are kept low as the Community Card programme takes away the costs incurred by the card issuer as part of a large programme, offering benefits of scale to small organisations. The Community Card programme takes responsibility for some of the key elements of marketing, allowing costs to remain low to member organisations.

Medium sized membership organisations such as trade unions can benefit from introducing the prepaid card to their members.

Smaller charities can use the card to increase donations and loyalty from supporters as part of an affinity programme.

Credit unions can offer this to members: the first two pilot partners of the Community Card scheme are credit unions.

International charities who have workers based overseas can use the card without the risks associated with money transfers.
